Halloween 2013

Brie was our cheerleader! she was so proud as I think she received the most comments and compliments on her costume.  She had totally remembered what Halloween was about!

Sir PJ was a knight, this kid was hyper all day! He was just crazy all day and could not wait to go trick or treating!
Madam Maggie was an emerald princess and totally felt like a princess all day! She completely LOVED her costume and did quite well in such a long dress.

Makayla wanted so badly to be a fairy, her daddy is persistent and made her day when he found this "I Believe" in fairies costume! The outfit was totally Kayla! She of course wanted to keep on trick or treating but our neighborhood was enough for these parents this year.

With four kids we had to race to each door and then put on the brakes and decide who's turn it was to ring the bell! After 6 blocks the race was still on each time! thank goodness we did not have any wipe outs!

The kids did do a very good job of keeping track of each other and making sure each person in our group got a piece of candy and made it through the maze of people. Our area gets swarmed by car loads of kids and so at times it is chaos.
Alas we did make it home after an hour of running for treats and then sat on our front step handing out candy for a bit longer. Everyone was happy with their own collection of candy and excited to be able to eat 3 pieces of candy! (though I know that each kid was sneaky in their own way and had way more than 3!) It was funny to watch them as they tried to hide the fact their were eating "so much" candy!
The kids got a special card from their cousins and again were very sweet opening it. Thanks for remembering us!
I think this house had another successful Halloween! I wonder if all that sugar will make them have sugarplum fairy dreams or completely upset tummies that will keep them awake half the night?.......Happy Halloween to everyone and good night!

Maggie classroom party

I helped in Maggie's classroom with the Halloween party and I think the kids had a good time. We had to get a few pictures in though. The kids walked around the school showing off their costumes and our walk even took us outside as the weather was nice! obviously Maggie is in her own little world here but having fun none the less.

Grandma's treats

The kids got a unexpected Halloween bag from my mom. They were very sweet in opening it to ensure that nothing got broke and each kid had a turn. Once the complete package was opened they all were very excited! Peanut butter cups for everyone! perfect! the kids all say THANK YOU GRANDMA!

pumpkin carving

We had a last minute thought at 4 pm on Sunday that we had not done pumpkin carving yet! Well plans quickly changed and we carved up some pumpkins in true Pete style. He really is amazing in the art area! these kids have no idea how lucky they are. The requests they make, and then how he can make them a reality, pretty talented!

PJ wanted an IRONMAN pumpkin and I can totally see it!
Brie requested Hello Kitty, it is close but the funny here is I asked her to make her eyes do cat eyes. This is what I got. hehe
 Maggie's pumpkin is a butterfly.
Makayla wanted a dragonfly near a flower( a tulip to be exact).
I grabbed LED tealights! I am a complete fan! they are so nice especially with the kids. totally recommend!

Brie

Brie cracked us up Saturday, she was having a pajama day but then decided she wanted to go outside. This outfit is too funny! winter boots, pajama pants, pink fleece coat and sunglasses of course! She was not to argued with over the outfit! We took the picture because she was outside swinging all by herself just smiling away! she was completely happy in her little world at that moment.

4-H

We had our first 4-H meeting today. We learned about bunnies and decorated cookies! We paid our dues last summer but it took until October to get together. Right now we are a group of just two families however we interest from others so we will see how this first year goes and we will take it from there. The kids had a great time of course and we will see what the future holds. Looking forward to a new adventure!

new trails

We went as a family to a local park/trail area near the house and we had a blast! The kids just ran and explored and did a lot of posing for pictures! Sometimes it is just nice to not look at the time and just run free and that is exactly what we did.  I apologize there are so many pictures but we had so much fun I could not help myself!

Mom and kids and dad and kids.....

A couple of us, compliments of Makayla. Pete even picked me a rose, awww..... the whole place is just so pretty!

Maggie is such a goof! I love both of the pictures in the trees of Maggie, each for their own reasons.

Makayla is just a sweet kid! She is so easy to take pictures of!  You have to take 10 pictures to get a good one of the other 3 but Makayla just looks at the camera and smiles the first time! so nice!
A little monkey time and hanging around at this tree for quite awhile!

PJ and Brie striking poses for pictures! Let me tell you by the end of this walk the kids were striking poses left and right and saying "mom take my picture, now how about this pose!" too funny, they are my kids!

This park is a photographer's dream, there are so many areas to take pictures and so many different options! Do not worry we ducked many a photographer set while we walked. There were probably no less than 15 or so groups getting photos taken!

A Sunday I am sure these 4 will remember for a long time! A Sunday outing I hope to repeat sooner rather than later, maybe without a camera next time!
