feather no more
Makayla was crushed Monday when a teacher said no feathers at school. She met me crying out of school, she was so disappointed as we were careful and chose a feather close to her hair color. At any rate the principal called her to the office today and had a compassionate heart to heart with her explaining the unwritten rule regarding feathers. So tonight I came home to a smiling Kayla who said "we have to take my feather out, but we can save it and put it back in on Christmas break!" That a girl, was to see the bright side. Thankfully it came out as easily as it went in and we WILL be able to use it again! (moral of the story make sure you know the school policy as to avoid some heartache!)

haircuts!
Makayla has wanted her haircut for a long time now and I was dragging my feet. The last time I really had her hair cut I did not like it, this time we went shorter! My nephew Adam's friend Bailey was willing to open today just to cut her hair. It is less for me to take care of right!? deep breath!

Makayla has also been desperate to have a feather in her hair, good old Adam said I will buy you a feather! gees! We just had to keep it simple as we have private school rules to follow.
The final reveal! I think she aged 4 to 5 years in a matter of 20 minutes! I still catch myself tonight looking twice at her!

Of course sister Maggie could not be left out of the fun! This is our before pose!
During the chop!

After with her chosen feather, which is red as her school rules are not as strict! I think her cut makes her look younger.
Group photo post cuts and feather purchases! A huge thank you to Bailey and Adam, it was a fun time and the girls love it. They did mention that their necks were cold :~) Bath time was so much quicker tonight without and extra 11 inches of hair to wash!! I think the girls are looking more alike now.

Coke and Jeff's Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Saturday with Karla's side at Coke and Jeff's house. More crafting, and then one niece found jelly beans that do not taste like traditional jelly beans. Two of the nephews were brave enough to try them and entertain us with their facial reactions. Flavors included canned dog food, pencil shavings, among several others. We all laughed until our sides hurt, thanks Adam and Todd for the good time!
Granny and Pop Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving 2011 to all! We started our travels over to granny and pops! The kids were able to play with some cousins they met 2 years ago. We took our try at a group photo a few times and a couple of them turned out okay.

The second photo of the group is post one of the performances that was given by the kiddos.
We were able to celebrate the holiday with Granny's brother, Uncle Bob and his family. Cousin Tom, Gina and cousin Katie with her family.

big chair
Snuggles in the "big chair" are favorite around this house! Pete thinks he is going to relax for a few minutes and suddenly his chair is filled with love! Brie too is usually a part of the pile but this night she chose to read a book. However she demanded that I take her picture as well, as you can tell she is looking her Sunday's best! We are not fancy around here and love our comfy snuggle time!

Brie...Brie..
Brie Brie is quite the multitask er! She is known to carry things with her mouth, arms, hands, shoulders, and she also is smart as each container she carries holds many trinkets as well. She does all this with a look of innocence.
Tonight I was talking with my mom on my cell and Brie grabbed her "phone". She very sweetly and clearly said "Love You", talk about melting a heart!

So Little Miss Brie has this obsession with frogs due to this sleeper! If the sleeper is visible she thinks she MUST have it ON! She loves the froggies on her feet. Saturday I put her down for a nap and heard her crying on the monitor. I went up to check on her as she usually does not cry at naps. I found her outside her crib! one foot in her sleeper and she was trying to get back into the crib! this all happened because she wanted the frog sleeper that was on top of the dresser! So there you have a few updates on Brie Brie!
bouncing...
This photo of the back of Brie and PJ was too sweet, they tootled around in this little car for awhile capturing lots of onlooker smiles. sorry the picture did not fall to the bottom of the post as I would have liked, enjoy anyway.
We went to a bounce place this weekend and the kids had a blast! Momma had some fun too. Brie was very brave and tried all the slides and bounce houses. This place is a good time!

weekend recap
So who says Halloween is only one day a year. PJ has a different opinion! He played outside in this outfit for awhile, I might add he only has undies on under this costume and it was a chilly day!
Saturday night would not have been complete without a "show" put on by the girls. They were polite and allowed the little ones to also take part. The big guys are always preparing for the next show and between you and I, I cannot tell the difference from one to another. But no matter what each performance is special in its own way and we treasure all of their efforts!
