coloring eggs

 I was late from getting home from work and Pete so kindly had the kids start coloring eggs so as to not have it last too late. Pete tried a new way, using rice?... it gave the eggs a speckled look, very similar to a robin's egg.
Makayla was in charge of taking pictures during my absence.

 I made it in time to watch them color the last half of their eggs. Let me tell you walking into our kitchen of 5 dozen boiled eggs was not so very pretty.

I had to dye at least one egg per the kids, Baby K seem fitting.

Flat Stanley

 One of my nieces sent us Flat Stanley, a project in 2nd grade in which you send him out of state and that family takes him on adventures and returns him. We sent Maggie's to Pete's brother and family and they really went above and beyond so I wanted to step up our end of the deal a bit. Stanley had many, many adventures with us. I think he was happy to return as then he could rest!

 We started at church  and then off to Pete's work, then the great children's museum we have. Then we did a picnic quick before hitting up the zoo.

The kids were excited to show him all the sharks and fish!

It was a fun little project and hopefully Ashlynn will be happy with the box that will be returning her Flat Stanley!

 The big girls each had a friend spend the night. It was a great night, Pete and I hung out with the little's and the other 4 were off and not heard from. We took a time-out for some pizza and mani/pedis. Brie was first so the other could decide if they really wanted the design or not.

We all headed out to church but not without a picture first. All 12 eyes were asleep at 1030 and all the kids did great at the extra long service. It went so well I think we will be doing this again soon.
