PJ - PCV23

this post is more for my record rather than really anything interesting for followers but none the less here it goes. PJ seems to get lung stuff a lot and his peds doc said probably asthma. So we went to see an asthma doc to just see what she had to say. His lung tests were normal so NO ASTHMA yea!! however he continues with the asthma like cough while we are in the room with her so we changed up meds a bit. Also we did lab work and it showed his pneumonia fighting cells were low. So I gave him a pneumonia shot and flu shot and then we will recheck labs again and see if he numbers improve. I gave him the shots on Wednesday evening and by Thursday morning he had a 102 to 103 fever and the arm with the pneumonia shot was quit swollen, very painful and turning red. This photo was not taken until Friday night as the arm seemed to continue to get worse. Saturday ended up being his last temp and now 7 days later I would saw the arm is almost 100%. He does have an acorn sized knot under the shot area but the redness is gone.( I am hoping because of the overreaction his body did to the shot that his numbers are up to the normal range!)

fuzzy wuzzy

The kids found this huge leopard moth caterpillar and saved it for the weekend. This thing was the biggest on I have ever seen. After doing a bit of research Pete figured out what kind it was and learned that they bury themselves for the winter and then they emerge in the spring as a leopard moth.
We all decided he would like the strawberry bed the best with Mary watching over him. :~)

The top and bottom ladies striking a pose. Kayla really can take a great picture! and Brie is just a ham!!

Pete had a birthday

It is a birthday time of year around here! Pete gets in on the birthday cake fun as well. Unfortunately I am in charge of his cake so nothing fancy just a plain German Chocolate rectangle cake! He is such a good sport though. We so love our tickling snugly daddy and we hope he has a fantastic year ahead!!

PJ is 5

PJ is now 5! Five means a lot at this house! We moved into our house just before PJ was born, we had a baby boy, we finally felt settled after many many moves. Now it is crazy to think all of that happened 5 years ago already.
PJ  is such a little man! He certainly brings a new energy and busy personality to this house! We so enjoy every part of having a son, they are so busy and cute!  PJ wanted an Iron Man birthday so this was as close as I could get.  Per his request he had Pete make him the same cake as last year. PJ wanted to go to the pizza place that has rides and games. So we grabbed the girls from school and headed out for an evening of fun. We came home and PJ torn into presents, he had a blast. Thank you once again to all who sent presents, he is really enjoying and playing with all of them!

daddy's home

Pete had to travel to Ireland for work and we were on our own for 6 days! While we all survived we are more than happy to have him home. This is the longest the kids and Pete have been separated so he was equally ready to get home to them as well. Pete was so kind to bring gifts back for them which included a new tin whistle for each of them! Our home has been taken to a new octave! thanks honey.

my beautiful mother

This beautiful young lady is my mom and she spent her birthday celebrating with us! My mom and sister drove out for the day. We hung out with the little ones in the morning, went out to lunch and they spent time with the older girls after school. We all shared birthday cake pops with grandma and sang a lovely happy birthday to her.  My sisters and I gave her decorations that she has been looking for.  Funny story, my sister bought these, sent with her (mom thought she was returning something to me), much to her surprise it was a present for her! hehe. Anyway as she was "unwrapping" the head popped off the one and these 3 were so funny. They just got the giggles, then mom put his head on and looked at him and that is when my sister and I got the giggles about the look they exchanged.
Mom had recently been to Florida and she brought back shells for the kids, they were amazed and were so thankful!
A big thank you to Auntie Jacie and Grandma for making the drive and spending the day with us!! Happy Birthday once again to my beautiful mother, out of respect to her I will not tell her age. I just wish for her many many more happy years! we all love you!!

Makayla is 10

Makayla turned 10 on Sept. 24th. She had a friend sleepover party with 4 other friends! The party had a butterfly like theme. The did some crafty things I had and chased butterflies outside and just had fun laughing and giggling! I did the final no more talking call around 1230 as we had to be up and at church Sunday morning.

It was a nice group of kids and they all seem to have a very good time!
Makayla wanted to return to an old favorite pizza place for her birthday dinner and requested a mint ice cream cake. Since her birthday was on a Tuesday it was a busy night. Dinner, grabbed the cake, and home for presents. Pete's family sends gifts to the kids for their birthday and that is always a favorite around here, watching the packages arrive.  Makayla got a few gift cards and I took her shopping Monday and did she shop! She is realizing how far she can make her money go and boy was she out to find the best deal out there! This dress and boots were a Justice find, she was in heaven! Thank you to everyone for making Makayla's feel so special on her birthday! We are very proud of the 10 year old she is. She is really a great kid and excellent big sister and example to her siblings!
