Pete's birthday!

Today was Pete's birthday, unlike the kids I will with hold the age and respect his privacy. :~) So went out with friends on Sat. and the kids had a babysitter from the daycare that closed. She is AWESOME and the kids LOVE her. The girls and Miss Amy made this awesome, very time consuming sign for Pete to wake up to this morning. The letter were all cut out, glitter glued and strung together with a string. We came home a bit earlier than expected and the girls had not quite made it to bed yet but as we learned this morning it was for a great reason.

Pete is a little afraid to be another year older. Has anyone learned how to freeze time yet? Life is good right now, the kids are fun, we are at a comfortable age, the jobs are good, so if we could just coast as is for awhile that would be okay. His day included sleeping in, going to church, a nap, a roasted chicken dinner, and a HUGE chocolate cake. ( I think there was a Corona in there as well) Happy Birthday my love and thanks for being in this adventure with me. Together we make a great team!

Who can resist pictures of the cutest 20 month old in this family. Here is a picture of her with her big girl hair. I was doing the big girls hair for church and she wanted a turn! Then this is Brie post Pete's chocolate birthday cake, do you think she liked it?!

a fading kiss...

Our Maggie was born with a hemangioma (strawberry birthmark) on her left cheek. We were told it would fade by her forth birthday or so. It did not and so we adopted the story that an angel kissed her cheek while she was in my belly before she was born. She has always handled it very well and will politely tell anyone who makes a comment, "it's my angel cheek and it doesn't hurt, I am just special". We learned these marks often fade around age 6, at this point it is just Maggie and honestly we do not notice it anymore until recently. It is showing signs of fading and I believe it will be gone by May when she will be 6. I wanted to take a moment and capture our angel kiss before it is gone. When I asked Maggie if she will miss her angel kiss? and true Maggie fashion she stated "nope I'll be fine because I have Jesus in my heart."

Toybox

Brie believes it to be more fun to sit in the toy box with all the toys on the outside. She played this way about an hour, leaning over getting a single toy for a bit and then throwing it out and grabbing another. Why does she not have a top on? it wasn't worth the fight that morning and we were just staying home anyway.

potty training 101

We have started potty training for the third time in our home. I am not sure he is ready but the sitter said give him three weeks and see how he is doing then. Brie was COMPLETELY fascinated with the whole process and PJ was giving her the 411 on how it all goes! She now trots right into the bathroom with PJ and states she has to go as well! do not be fooled, she is just after the mini M&M that comes with PJ's success. She is also an excellent cheerleader, clapping and yelling YEA every time he goes! This picture was just funny to me so I had to share.

PJ is 3!!

My PJ has turned THREE!! and does he act like it!! As mentioned last blog we spent his "birthday" at the pumpkin patch with a few of his favorite people. We had a parking lot picnic with sandwiches and cake!

PJ and all his presents. He was very excited about all of them! He is in pajamas as the pumpkin patch was soo dirty it required immediate baths, then presents.

For whatever reason PJ had recently taken an interest in Spider man, I think from daycare. At any rate we tried to make him happy with a few spider man things. He LOVES this t-shirt.

I could not resist including this photo of him in his spidey jams, with his spidey blanket pretending to fly. I said do you really think you can fly buddy? and he responded very quickly " yep my THREE!" So there you have it, the boy is three. crazy!

Pumpkin Patch

PJ requested to go on a train ride for his birthday and we thought the pumpkin patch had the perfect train.My mom, sister, and brother in law came into town and we all had a fabulous day at the very dusty, dirty pumpkin patch! We did not get to everything but definately hit a lot in the 7 hours we were there. I could totally overload this blog with photos, even more than usual!


Here we are "mining for precious gems and gold!" The girls and Pete spent at least an hour panning as the rest of us toured around a bit.

There are constant shows with animated characters and such for entertainment.

We made it to the train and PJ was THRILLED, the conductor even took him up to the engine and had his photo taken.

OK so PJ wins the funny of the day! There are these giant "pillows" air filled trampolenes that we have never done before. Since we have not done these before we were unaware there are rules. Well my sister and I took the kids right up to the big yellow one(adults only as to not step on little ones, oops) At any rate it is undescribable the laughing that went on. PJ became a limp noodle and just went with it, he was hilarious! At one point a few people had gathered to watch the kid in orange. Needless to say a good time was had by all and the adults were just a little sore after jumping!
