Spout park

The neighbor has been talking about a splash park near us and how much fun her little man has. Today with our 100 degrees I wanted to get them to water somehow and I knew I could not handle all four in a pool by myself. So we tried it out and they had a blast! There was only a swallow bit of standing water, about 4 inches or so, perfect for splashing in!

Brie was only shy for about 5 minutes and then was unstoppable, thus no group pictures with Brie, she was far too busy for a photo!

By the end she had no fear of the spouts, and once in awhile they really got her and she would just giggle!!

CHEESE!!

Time to dry off before leaving. I love PJ's face!

curious cat

Pete took the older ones shopping for fireworks today so I took out the little pool for the wee ones. They had a good time splashing everywhere. They would do a big splash and the water would hit the deck door and drops would run down the window and Melody chased everyone as they ran down. PJ splashed for over 30 minutes, creating lots of running droplets and Melody stuck with it determined to catch just one but never succeeded.

delays

No photos, just an apology for not updating in a few days. Life has been a bit stressful since hearing about the daycare, then company, and just keeping up with day to day things. We have not come a final daycare solution yet. I am holding out for one more interview and to hear final numbers on ours, because there is the possibility that ours may stay open. Just continue to keep us in your prayers and the right solution will hopefully work itself out very soon. Also for those far please keep the flood or threatened flood victims in your prayers. Everyone is just on edge around here not knowing if they are going to be safe or not. It was a little daunting driving home last night and seeing an Army truck with several men, a soldier walking along the levee, and look up and behold there is a black hawk helicopter flying overhead. Things we do not see on a regular basis around these parts. It made it a bit more real for me. Have a good weekend upcoming and we will see what this next week brings forth!

declawed!

Melody Monday night before the declaw.

Our 8 week old kitten went in Tuesday morning for a four paw declaw. Cruel yes a little, but so much safer for our house. Since Sunday she has turned into a spider kitty, one bounce and launch, all twenty claws into whatever was there. Sometimes it was the good couches, the old couch, the bed, your arm or leg. It really didn't matter she had discovered how to use them and she was!! I was happy I had it scheduled already and they were being removed. Upon check in she was 2# 4 ounces. Still growing and oh so much fun. She had to spend the night and everyone at the vet feel in love with the little tuxedo kitten! Melody has done great and is very mellow since coming home, I think we are dealing with some anesthesia leftovers here. I am glad it is done and she is back. Tuesday night was a bit weird not having her around after 6 1/2 weeks. We could walk easily and not be on guard of being attacked.

Melody Thursday after the declaw.

weather

Rumor has it that the mid west is in for some terrible weather this summer. This is clouds above our house Monday night @ 7:45, it was bright and super sunny before these very scary clouds rolled in! The kids were in bed and already asleep, our sirens went off for 10 minutes straight but the tv kept saying we do not see any tornadoes so we held tight. They apparently were going off to warn us of the 70 mph winds that this storm was packing. We ended up with wind, hail, rain, and then calm and much cooler. Our tornado area is now cleaned out, stocked with a flashlight and some water. Hopefully now that we have a plan and are ready we will never have to use it!!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all dads out there, I am sure you are the ones following my blog and would not feel complete is you did not get a Happy Father's Day wish from me! :~) The girls have a babysitter this summer who is fantastic! She helped the girls create this card.

We tried a group shot and Brie was not having it. Needless to say with that personality this is the only group photo taken.

I took the kids shopping and because of that Pete ended up with LOTS of new fishing stuff. When we left the house we were headed to get A tackle box, that lead to a fish shirt, a new pair of fishing sun glasses(because daddy's are broke and he HAS to have new ones), and then a new apron as his is old(it doesn't even have Brie on it !) After shopping we came home and put the kids handprint and footprints on the apron! The girls were so very excited for him to open his things. PJ too was very excited but do not quite know why. A great day was had here and hoping all fathers had a good day as well.

Hair and grandma

One never knows what is going to happen when my mom stops for a visit. Cutting PJ's hair was definitely not on the agenda but none the less here it is. My mom can do anything!! Together Jill and mom took care of my shaggy boy! Much cheaper and nicer I might add than the normal $16 haircut he gets. PJ did awesome, he held very still and allowed them to do what they needed to. I am not sure I am ready for the job but now I have more time to think about it. Thanks mom and Jill.
