Valentine's prep
So looking ahead proved that our weekends are pretty busy. We had bought our valentines almost the day the store had put them out. The kids have been wanting to do them so no time like last Sunday during a quiet afternoon to complete said task. Doing valentines at our house has become quite the big deal. Unfortunately Makayla being in the 4th grade means no more valentines exchanges for her(insert sad face here :~( I do not think she should have to give it up already but alas we will obey school rules. The kids decided Makayla could be in charge of the neighbors valentines as to feel like a part of the holiday. It was a sweet exchange between them that I wish I could have captured on video. Makayla was more than happy to take charge of that task.
Weekend bums
curly Kayla?
Makayla wanted curly hair to go to school one day. After her shower we put in curlers and curls we got! That morning was kind of comical taking them out. She received lots of compliments and thinks now she would enjoy a perm!
Friends
We had a weekend of friends after our long family together time with the holidays. Kayla had a friend spend the night and then we had friends over the next night. It was a fun weekend catching up with people we have not seen in awhile!
Makayla and her friends Bailey and then Emily.
PJ and Isaac, they will be best buds next year. I think they will keep their kindergarten teacher on her toes.
These little lovely's are also going to be in school together. They had a great night busily playing babies and kitchen and all things girlie!

weekend company
All these lovely people came into town over the weekend and hung out with us! The boys went to Hobbit and the ladies were able to sneak in some shopping. The little blond on the left is my niece Ericka and she came to us on Thursday and babysat. She is always such a helper and great to have around. We are hoping her parents will continue to share her with us!
A big THANK YOU to the crew for traveling to come visit and hang out with us. It was so fun to have a house almost full. We still had 3 open beds, so do not be afraid to visit, we have plenty of room!! The kids so enjoy having people come to their house.

no toys
So for the first time in over 10 years our living room is toy free. Also for the first time since living in this house(over 5 years) there are no toys here! We spent one day taking down all the Christmas stuff, cleaning, and going through EVERY toy holder while on vacation. We sorted, pitched and passed on many, many toys. It is such a nice feeling to have everything updated, and organized!

Happy day late Birthday POP!
This young man is my father in law and he celebrated a birthday yesterday! While we were home at Christmas we did a little Happy Birthday song to him and gave him a present. I truly intended to post this yesterday just for him but alas I am again a day late! We did manage to call and left a very cheerful happy birthday song on his answering machine! We hope you had a great birthday Pop we hope the whole year ahead is a happy and healthy one for you! We love you!!
