Maggie's Dance Recital

Maggie has always wanted to take dance so for Christmas we gave her a semester of dance lessons. The semester ended June 15th with her dance recital. She danced to Rama Lama and had a blast. I was not sure if she would dance on stage but she had no problem getting through her routine! She had such a great time, dressing up, make up and dancing!

We had a beautiful "meadow" going in the backyard and then they came along a mowed it all. They did a poor job of mowing so I got the brainy idea and headed out with the mower. Makayla helped me sort of measure out a field and I mowed a ball diamond out back! A couple of the neighbors behind us also got in on the making of the field. One of them is a high school baseball coach so he was all about making it just right! Perfect, we have on a few nights been able to go out and enjoy our "Field of Dreams"! One of the neighbors has ordered bases and we have the gloves, balls, and bat. So if you are in the mood to play ball come on over! we are ready!!

red, white and blue

 It was a bright "ish" kind of day when I tried to do group pictures, so no pictures really turned out. The top photo is so funny to me, look at little Brie's face! she is a character!!

Aside from squinty eyes this is the best of the 2 dozen taken! ugg... maybe someday all four will just look at the camera and smile all at the same time......

time off

 I had 5 days off around Memorial Day and it was wonderful. In between rain showers we were able to sneak in a little fishing and relaxing with the kids. I think all but PJ caught a fish that day. Brie was the first and was very excited until the fish became wiggly on the line while she was holding it, that was it! she was done and quickly handed the line over to daddy and did not need to fish anymore!

PJ really I do not think noticed that he did not catch a fish, he was happy to just be fishing. He is more about the casting and reeling in, rather than the actual catch.

Garden Prep

 Pete and the kids spent the dry part of Memorial Day weekend getting the garden set up. The kids had a blast finding all the worms and placing them in just the right spot in the completed garden.

While Brie enjoyed the gardening, she was a bit hesitant about dirty hands. She did get over it and they all required soaking baths to get all the dirt off that night.

Horse Lesson

 Maggie got a horse lesson for her birthday. Both girls have a great love of horses. We went the last day of school. The girls had a grand time. Maggie's horse found the only open gate in the arena and decided to take his own path. Once we got him back on track the rest of the time was uneventful. The ladies got to spend an hour with their horse, grooming, riding, and caring for the horse. An hour went way to fast for them.

The horse was given Maggie a how do ya do! Her face was too funny.

 Kayla got in on the fun as well and completely enjoyed herself!

PJ and Brie tagged along to be a part of the fun as well. The helper was kind enough to let them be a part of the activities as well except riding. :~)
In case you do not know, horses LOVE peppermints, the red and white circle ones? Well they do and this horse was more than HAPPY and he gave us lots of "smiles"! yes folks that horse is smiling. I needed two cameras as the kids were equally full of grins because of the smiling horse, I wish I had a photo of their faces!

Last Day of School

 PJ and Brie ended school with a program. I am always trying to come up with thank you gifts. This year the little ones gave each of the teachers and staff daisies and the photo below. I think the picture turned out cute, their faces have such personality.

 

The big girls had a dress up day the last day of school and dress up they did. They were so excited to wear their "Cinderella" dresses. One more year in the books and we are so proud of each of them for progressing on to the next level.
