Girl Scouts party

Makayla had her year end Girl Scout party this year at camp. We all gathered and made drums in prep for the drum roll. They had a drum master who came in and played up to 5 instruments at one time that night. He was very good!! The drum master brought his drums to the center and the kids could dance their way to the center and play away! Kayla had no problem dancing right up there in front of everyone! It was a nice night and everyone had a good time!

Sand in the city....

This weekend we went to sand in the city! The city dumped 375 ton of sand in a parking lot and the kids had free run!  Local corporations sculpted various sand pieces that the public voted on. I had to take the Olympic swim picture for Pop!
It was hard to not stay all day in that sand and pretend we were all surrounded by water! Pete and I had to get in on the fun as well! gosh it makes me miss the beach.
This was a total kids event, bubbles, hola hoops, chalk, face painting, bounce houses,  and we enjoyed some cotton candy in the shade! We then took a walk along the river and enjoyed the fun atmosphere! This was a good kid day as well as a good parents day!

a day of bliss

A day of bliss is exactly what the doctor ordered. The fantastic doctor I work for gave his wife, his phone nurse Nicole and I a gift certificate to the spa! We enjoyed massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures and pure spoiling! It was awesome and an experience I could get used too! A huge thank you for a wonderful day of relaxation and great company to the doc!

grandma time

My mom came in on Sunday and spent the week with us. She is still as amazing as ever! She and the kids just had an all around fun week!(I think) She of course can do all the wash, play with the kids, clean the kitchen(even the toaster, this was especially interesting to a couple of the kids. Maggie stated she had NEVER seen her mom clean out the toaster:~) Anyway mom can do all the above and make it look so easy! Why can't I do that? They managed some park time, flower picking, and out to lunch activities as well as many others. Pete and I cannot thank her enough for all she did for us, we even got a date night in. THANK YOU THANK YOU!! we all love you very much!!

Memorial Day fishing

My mom came into town for the week to help with childcare. We did not waste any time putting her to work. Pete and I took off with the top three to go fishing for the first time this season. It was an enjoyable time filled with lots of giggles as the little people kept reeling in fish. We threw them all back but had fun none the less. Grandma and Brie too had a good time playing at home without any big kid distraction. (thanks for the hats Granny, we LOVE them!)

Memorial Day gathering

We were host to a couple of Makayla's classmates and families. The party included 13 kiddos! I think a good time was had by all and no one went home hungry! It is nice to have the kids getting a bit older so we can be a little more social.

Wizard of OZ

So we were being the good parents and going to take the kids to the local Children's Museum and wouldn't you know it was the kick off for the Wizard of Oz! We got in on the parade and the whole nine yards! It was a neat experience for them and fun as well! This poor horse required an hour and a half of being painted purple with 5 cans of paint!

Toto was such a good sport with all the attention he was receiving.

Our Children's Museum really is a neat place for the kids. Lots of fun and things to do. We bought the pass so the babysitter and kids will have many fun days ahead!
