Cousin fun

My great nieces came into town to play with my kids with my sister(their grandma). We had lots of shows of dancing and singing and playing! We had ice screams sundaes and just an overall great time! We did not do anything fancy, we just let the children play!

Queen of "I do it myself!"

This is Brie before a haircut. She runs the house and is queen of I do it myself!  Only once in awhile is someone able to help her get dressed, cut her food, or help onto something. All other times she has to be completely independent! She discovered this independence just before the Fourth of July, appropriate timing if she weren't 2! I would appreciate it if she would gain some independence with regards to potty training. I thought summer would be a good time to try. I am not sure what I was thinking as our schedules are far from routine this time of year and that adds certain obstacles with ones training. So for our half hearted attempts I guess she is not doing too bad.

This is our look post haircut, she looks like more trouble now! I think it turned out quite cute. I am curious to see if it will curl with humidity.? I asked if she will remain soo blond and the lady thought that eventually she would darken into more of a sandy blond.? I guess time will tell.

fireworks again

We arrived home from the cabin and the neighbors were lighting off fireworks! The kids were THRILLED! Pete in turn got out our leftovers and we had 4rth of July all over again! what fun to be a kid!

Cabin fun

 Pete cleaning the kids catch from our time at a cabin this week. I think everyone got in on the fishing and each caught a fish. The biggest one got away, of course right, because it broke the pole! We were given the chance to go enjoy a lake for a couple of days and we had a blast. It was so relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. My mom was able to come and visit and take the fish home, as we do not eat them.

 We had little projects we did, necklaces, string bracelets, stickers, and a whole lot of swimming.(the kids did the swimming, the parents were the lifeguards:~)

Everyone had a great time and something we hope to repeat sometime. The 48 hours we were away felt like a 5 day break. Lots of laid back whatever you want to do was the motto. Special thanks to my sister and brother in law for the hook up, we really appreciate it! Love ya!

YUCKY Beetles

Our yard has been invaded by these little beetles! They are eating everything!! I finally used Sevin on the flowers, trees, and yard. I am finding dead bugs everywhere! it is fantastic, I am just happy the chemical worked! I hope they are gone for good! Now maybe my flowers will come back to life and be happy!

Fourth of July

 July 3rd was our 4th of July fun. We had friends over, started the evening with food, then pinata', and then onto the fireworks!

Everyone was fascinated by the snakes!

 As you can tell by his face, PJ had a blast with the fireworks! I am concerned about his future and the love of the sparklers.

cousins walk

We headed out on a walk to the park around the corner. A normal 7 minutes adventure turned into a 40 walk just to get there. We inspected every centipede, millepede, caterpillar, ant, rolly polly, and every other but one can imagine.

 A quick pose at the bridge, then it was immediately back to the inspections!

 Brie was trying very hard to throw the ball up  into the trees.

The kids turned into monkeys and started climbing trees and doing an okay job of getting up in them.

 

After the walk we did the slip and slide to cool off. Then it was a picnic on the deck for lunch.

A huge thank you to Pop for the fantastic week of swimming trials. Our seats were awesome and a good time was had by all that attended. It was so fun to have everyone here and be able to spend time together. Odd for me but I did not get pictures with the grandparents and kids, and others.?.
