weekends...

This is what you get on a lazy Sunday morning around our house. Some pajamas, and a whole lot of silliness! An impromptu photo opportunity, so please pardon the hair and attire. The kids were all horsing around together and paused for a few photos!

We really see them all interacting with each other quite often. It is not always the same two or three paired up. I think they all like each other equally. It is very fun to sit back and just observe them and how they love each other! Do you think I will have this kind of luck in 10 years when they are 16, 14, 12, and 11??? I am already praying for patience for those days:~).

We had some new friends come for dinner Saturday evening. They have 4 kiddos also, almost the same ages as ours. The kids had a great time as well as the parents! It is nice to meet new people who have similar views and interests. This could be the beginning of a long friendship so I had to take a picture.

Brie 14 weeks

Brie is 14 weeks today! We have 9 days of daycare under our belt. She is adjusting pretty well, but this week is refusing bottles after taking them very well last week.? She is definately a child of mine as she has her first ear infection. I was hoping she would take after Kayla and have good ears but no luck! She was up Friday night every 2 hours but has seemed a bit better everyday since then. A couple more days of bubble gum medicine and hopefully we are healed. I can get her to giggle pretty easily lately, so fun.

Obviously by the photo left she was not interested in the same thing he was! PJ just loves his sister!! I have to share a story, I will try to keep it brief: Last Monday was the first day of daycare. Both babies had rough first days, lots of tears. I came to pick them up at 5:15, PJ was standing next to Brie who was in a bouncer. I came in and they were across the room, I said "Hi PJ". He looked at me with a very red blotchy face and got a huge smile and sigh of relief. I expected him to come running toward me and he thought about it, however he quickly returned to Brie's side and grabbed her foot(as if I am not going unless she goes!) I tried to put on his coat and he refused until I had her all buckled in her seat, then he put on his coat. I am happy to report PJ is doing much better with daycare but still will not leave Brie's side at daycare as we are readying to go at night. I am so relieved to see that he really does like his sister and is not resentful toward her at all! Nothing beats happy sibling interaction.

Mother's Day

I have had a great day! 5 reasons to be happy, a great husband who is with me for everything.

A darling oldest who is exactly like her mom!
A full of spirit second that is always a fun challenge.

An adorable third who loves his momma the most and is always full speed ahead!

A precious forth for whom we are all greatful. She has definately completed our family and makes each of us smile.

They are all my rays of sunshine! It is only once you have become a mother that you are previlege to the intense love and overwhelming protection one feels. Every hug, smile, song sang, dance preformed, gesture given are all moments that make a mother feel pride. You each make me very proud! I hope you all know I love you more than words can say!

Sweet & Sassy Saturday

Kayla's end of year party with her Girl Scout troup was at Sweet and Sassy. It is a little girls dream party! She picked a pink princess dress.

Got her nails done, pink of course!

A very fancy up do, of course princess style.

A runway to dance and show off their new look.
All of it caught on video for enjoying many years from now. These 11 little girls had a blast. We headed to Sears for pictures after to capture the beauty. I think I have only been asked a dozen times when she can go back in the past 24 hours!

I was able to enjoy an evening away. I left at 6:30 for dinner and then a movie. Pete had all 4 kiddos awake! I was nervous but he did great, even smart enough to get a picture for me to find today on the camera. I guess they really did all do well. I came home to sleeping kids but Brie did wake up to give me a smooch before she went off to dreamland.

Brie 13 weeks

13 weeks old. This has been a busy week for Brie. She has gotten into reaching out for things. Loves to hold her rattle and play with toys. She has learned how to do raspberries( thought they learned that after the 4 month mark!)talk about drool! As I am feeding her lately I thought to myself she has gotten really long. Sure enough a quick stop at the office yesterday confirmed she is 16# and 25 3/4" long!

Having an ice cream treat with our special "grandma Karen". She attended Kayla's program with me and we thanked her by getting ice cream.

Makayla had a mother's day tea. Very sweet little program honoring mothers and of course Mary. Several teary eyed mothers in the room as the kids touched a lot of hearts. It made you remember these are fun times and we need to stop and enjoy this. I put new music up and it is one of the songs Kayla sang, "Skinnamarink". It is super cute and catchy! Enjoy

First day of daycare and here we go! A quick photo then out the door by 7:15. Everyone and everything in tow, getting to daycare by 7:45 only to unload and face the day. Maggie is thrilled to be back and loves all the attention from her friends. Quite unhappy with me this morning as it was not a daycare day! Brie had alittle trouble Monday but has been a champ since! She takes her bottles and naps like a good girl and occassionally she gives them a smile. It took till 7:30 Monday night for her to look at me though, alittle angry I think. PJ, my poor PJ. He is having a terrible time adjusting! The staff is trying to help but he just doesn't remember them and had 13 weeks at home. The little man is so scared in the morning that he just cries and shakes like a leaf. Tuesday I put him in the high chair and he was shaking so bad he had the chair shaking as well. It totally breaks my heart! I leave and call 30 minutes later and he has moved on and is playing but wow, what a way to start your day! Of note he has not had binky since Monday am! Daycare doesn't use them and so they were not in his bed that night and he didn't ask so they are gone. That was not a planned move but it seems to be working. Also the little dude is getting 2 of his eye teeth.
As for work we went to computer charting last Wednesday so I am learning slowly. I am a bit rusty after a 13 week leave and then to return this way was a bit overwhelming monday but it is coming around and in 6 months it will be great, I hope. All in all our house is adjusting and learning the new way of life. Kayla is not caring for her afterschool daycare but she really only has 5 days left there. We have a different situation lined up for the summer and fall for her.
Till next post take care.

Though I sit here at the end of my 12 weeks with tears in my eyes God sends me a wonderful sign that all will be okay, a double rainbow. The photo is not as impressive as the actual sky was. I will say my prayers tonight and be thankful for the four beautiful children He has given me and the supportive husband I have.

Photos

We had a fun weekend! Started with dinner with friends Friday night, it included a performence of dancing, singing and of course dress up!
We all enjoyed our trip to the zoo. Peacock watching by the family.

Trying to get 3 kiddos to pose on a rock in the petting zoo!

Looking at the monkeys.

Talking to the birds.

Pretty girl!

Experiencing one of the many waterfalls.

Observing tigers.

Checking out the butterflies.

Watching the fish.

We all tried to enjoy our Sunday together and tried to forget what tomorrow is going to bring. The start of a new chapter in our lives. Say prayers folks that we all do well with the adjusting this week. Till next post.........
